The South Asian Collection — Threads of Memory and Modernity
Where color speaks before words, and pattern becomes poetry.
The South Asian Collection captures the soul of a region where craft is not merely made — it’s inherited. From the hand-knotted rugs of Jaipur to the jute weaves of Bengal, each piece carries echoes of temple carvings, sari borders, and monsoon-soaked markets that have shaped generations of artistry.
Our designers work with local artisans to reinterpret centuries-old techniques into modern silhouettes, preserving the patience of tradition while embracing the clarity of contemporary design. Rich marigold hues meet the calm of indigo; delicate paisleys stretch across minimalist forms. Every rug, cushion, or table we create becomes a dialogue — between old and new, memory and reinvention.
This collection is an ode to South Asia’s rhythm: vibrant yet balanced, intricate yet effortless, timeless yet alive. It invites you to bring home a fragment of that world — where beauty is not found in perfection, but in the enduring human touch.
Indigenous History: For millennia, textile traditions across South Asia have been vessels of identity, spirituality, and resistance. The region’s earliest weaving practices date back to the Indus Valley Civilization, where dyed cotton fragments reveal some of humanity’s first experiments with pattern and color. Later, the Mughal courts elevated textile-making to fine art — patronizing silk ateliers in Varanasi and carpet workshops in Lahore and Kashmir that blended Persian finesse with Indian imagination. Beyond royal patronage, weaving also thrived in village and tribal communities, where each motif held meaning: a fish symbolizing fertility, a lotus invoking rebirth, a peacock signifying beauty and renewal. Colonial trade brought upheaval but also global fascination — Indian chintz, dhurries, and muslins reshaped aesthetics from London to Lisbon. Today, these traditions survive through artisan families who continue to weave history into every thread.
The South Asian Collection honors these lineages, celebrating indigenous artistry not as nostalgia, but as a living, evolving inheritance.
How It’s Made
Materials: Natural fibers including hand-spun wool, silk, and jute sourced from artisan cooperatives in India and Bangladesh.
Dyeing: Plant-based and mineral dyes such as indigo, turmeric, and madder root, producing rich hues with minimal environmental impact.
Techniques: Hand-knotting (Persian and asymmetrical knots), flat-weaving, block-printing, and fine embroidery inspired by regional styles like Kantha and Phulkari.
Finishing: Rugs are washed, stretched, and sun-dried to achieve soft texture and sheen. Final detailing is done by hand to preserve individuality in each piece.
Ethics & Provenance: Every creation supports sustainable artisan livelihoods through fair trade partnerships, ensuring transparency and traceability from loom to home.
